Ruhama's first opened its doors in Whitefish Bay, WI in 1960. In 1981, Dawn Slugg realized her dream of owning a yarn and needlepoint shop when she bought the long established business from Ruhama Weiner. Since then Dawn has poured her heart and soul into the shop making it what it is today - a warm, inviting, locally owned and operated shop where artists and creators come together to share their passion and inspirations! How to get here: To exit I-43 South: Take the Silver Spring east exit, turn left onto Silver Spring at the end of the exit ramp. To exit I-43 North: Take the Silver Spring east exit, turn left onto Port Washington (North) at the end of the exit ramp. Get in the right hand lane once on Port Washington Rd. At the next traffic light, turn right onto Silver Spring. Once on Silver Spring Drive, continue east until you see the Fox Point theatre on your left. We are between Breadsmith and Fitzgerald's Pharmacy! There is street parking in the front of the shop, as well as a large parking lot behind the shops. The Project Linus MissionProject Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission which is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers." Together we have distributed over three million blankets to children in need since our inception in 1995. |
